With over two decades of mastery across public education—spanning all grade levels, administration, special education, and reading specialization—Dennita Miskimen is a powerhouse visionary. As the founder of a Christian one-room schoolhouse model, she placed Jesus at the core, blending academic excellence, homesteading traditions, and entrepreneurial spirit. Her bold leadership has sparked a nationwide movement, with families reclaiming education rooted in faith. Dennita’s expertise, innovation, and unwavering commitment to Christ continue to inspire excellence, community, and purpose in every child’s journey.

Meet Our Teachers

Leah Pierce

Leah is an experienced educator entering her 12th year in the classroom, with nine years spent in public education. She holds a Bachelor of Science in Elementary Science (K–8) from Western Governors University and brings a strong foundation in evidence-informed instruction.

Raised on a dairy farm, Leah weaves authentic agricultural experience into her teaching, creating hands-on learning that connects academics to real life. She emphasizes critical thinking, encourages curiosity, and meets students at their individual levels through thoughtful, relational instruction.

Grounded in faith, Leah views integrating Christian principles into learning as the most meaningful part of her work, blending academic rigor, experiential learning, and spiritual formation in the classroom.

Deb Lovering

Teacher With over 30 years of service in the Clerk of Court’s Office, she brings a strong foundation of leadership, integrity, and compassion to The Little Red Schoolhouse. She supervised both Civil and Jury divisions and earned her Master Clerk Certificate through the Supreme Court, reflecting a career marked by excellence, discretion, and trust.

Throughout her work supporting judges, attorneys, law enforcement, and the public, she became known for her ability to serve individuals navigating difficult moments with professionalism, kindness, and confidentiality.

Today, she brings that same heart for service into the classroom—teaching children a love for Jesus, learning, and responsibility, while helping care for farm animals and nurturing a culture of kindness, trust, and respect.

Emma Powell

Emma Powell is a Teacher’s Assistant at The Little Red Schoolhouse. She graduated in 2025 from Hopeville High School and is currently preparing to obtain her real estate license upon completion of her state exam.

Emma is passionate about working with children and cherishes the opportunity to serve in a Christian-based elementary school, where she can help teach children about the Lord each day. She finds it especially meaningful to be part of a school where faith is woven naturally into learning and daily life.

She loves that The Little Red Schoolhouse feels like a family, and she values the close-knit community formed by the students and staff. Emma describes the children as a joy to work with and is grateful to be part of a place filled with kindness, support, and
